Recommended Motion:
That the Mayor and Common Council and the Community Development Commission approve
the following dates for regular meetings of the Mayor and Common Council/Community
Development Commission for the year 2002: January 7 and 22; February 4 and 19; March 4 and
18; April I and 15; May 6 and 20; June 3 and 17; July I and 15; August 5 and 19; September 9
and 23; October 7 and 21; November 4 and 18; December 2 and 16.

Mayor and Common Council/Community Development Commission regular
meeting dates for 2002

BACKGROUND:
This is a request to have the Mayor and Common Council/Community Development
Commission approve the following CouncillCommission regular meeting dates for 2002:
January 7 and 22; February 4 and 19; March 4 and 18; April I and 15; May 6 and 20; June 3 and
17; July I and 15; August 5 and 19; September 9 and 23; October 7 and 21; November 4 and 18;
December 2 and 16.
Council meetings are held on the first and third Monday of each month; however, the above
dates reflect changes made as a result of holidays. For example, in January, the second meeting
will take place on Tuesday, January 22, since the 3'd Monday falls on a legal holiday. In
February, the second meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 19, since the second meeting
falls on a legal holiday. In September, the first meeting falls on Labor Day. Since there are five
Mondays in September, recommendation is made that meetings be held on the 2nd and 4th
Mondays, i.e. September 9 and 23.
With the Mayor and Common Council's approval of a year-long schedule of regular meeting
dates, it would make it easier for all departments by providing them with as much notice as
possible of deadlines for submitting agenda items for the entire calendar year.
RECOMMENDED MOTION:
That the Mayor and Common Council and the Community Development Commission approve
the following dates for regular meetings of the Mayor and Common Council/Community
Development Commission for the year 2002: January 7 and 22; February 4 and 19; March 4 and
18; April I and 15; May 6 and 20; June 3 and 17; July I and 15; August 5 and 19; September 9
and 23; October 7 and 21; November 4 and 18; December 2 and 16.
