POSITION JUSTIFICATIONS
The following are justifications for classified appointments, promotions and other
personnel actions to be reviewed by the Mayor and Common Council at the June
18,2001 Council meeting.
CLASSIFIED
GENERAL FUND
1. Tvpist Clerk II (Phillips, B.) - Appointment
DEVELOPMENT SERVICES
This Typist Clerk II position was vacated as a result of a promotion. This position
is essential for maintaining and improving the department's direct customer
service. The person in this position provides reception services at the
department's busy front counter and provides support to the technical staff who
process permits at the counter. This position will also provide direct
administrative support to the Building Inspection and Plan Check Divisions.
2-3. Refuse Operator I (Davis, E., Smith, F.) - Appointments
PUBLIC SERVICES
The Public Services Department currently has 16 Refuse Operator I positions.
These employees are essential to the department and to refuse collection
operation in the City. Employees in the Refuse Operator I classification drive
refuse trucks, assist with refuse collection for commercial accounts and are
backup for the residential refuse drivers servicing the City's residential
neighborhoods.
