May 30,2001. The Ways and Means Committee recommended that the Mayor and Common

Recommended Motion: That the Mayor and Common Council approve fee waivers in the

BACKGROUND
Libl'eria del Pueblo has requested a fee waive!' fol' a Temporary Use Permit to hold a health fair
on June 9, 2001 at 972 N. Mt. Vernon Avenue. Libreria del Pueblo is a nonprofit organization
pursuant to Section 5.04.630 of the Municipal Code. See the attached lettel' and application for
more information.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
City departments provide services andlol' l'equil'e permits as follows:
Planning Division
Temporary Use Permit fee of $332. Requested fee waiver is $332.
Building Services Division
A permit and inspection are l'equired for the genel'ator. If the inspection is scheduled for a
weekday, no additional fees are required. Requested fee waiver is $58.
Citv Clerk's Office
The health services vendors are providing information and Business Registration Certificates are
not required.
Libreria del Pueblo employees and volunteel'S will provide the food and drinks, in lieu of using
vendors. They are coordinating with the County Health Department regarding necessary permits.
No City fees are requil'ed.
Public Services
It is anticipated that the use may generate enough l'efuse, l'elated to the food service aspect, to
l'equire a roll off containel' and disposable boxes. The fee for this service is $478.

Fire
Permits are required for tents and canopies that are 400 square feet and larger. One, 20' X 9'
(180 square feet) and 8 - 10 canopies are proposed. No permits or City fees are l'equired.
Police
The Police Department has determined that the proposed entertainment consists sporadic singing
by volunteers of the organization and an entertainment license will not be required. No permits
or City fees are l'equired.
CONCLUSION
The total fee waiver l'equested is $868 from General Fund accounts.
