RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the State of California Oil Recycling Enhancement Act provides
funds to cities and counties for establishing and maintaining local used oil collection
programs that encourage recycling of used motor oil and filters;
WHEREAS, the California Integrated Waste Management Board has been
delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program with the State, setting

12 up necessary procedures governing applications of cities and counties under the
13 program;

15 agreement with the State of California for the implementation and maintenance of a

WHEREAS, the City of San Bernardino, as applicant, will enter into the
Used Oil Recycling Program that offers used oil and filter recycling opportunities for
residents and encourages the proper disposal of used motor oil and filters;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY

SECTION 1. That the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino
ratify the submittal of an application to the California Integrated Waste Management
Board for the 2008/09 Used Oil Recycling Block Grant (a copy of which is attached

hereto as Exhibit "A").

The City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to
execute in the name of the City of San Bernardino all necessary contracts (upon the
27 approval of the City Attorney), payment requests, agreements, and amendments hereto
28 for the purposes of securing grant funds to implement and carry out the purposes
specified in the grant application.

Work Completed From July 1, 2008 - June 30, 2009: This section contains a breakdown of funds to be expended
during the next fiscal year from one or more active block grants. Its categories may vary from those that appear on
the EIS documents. This section will give program staff improved data to identify potential areas for development.
