Thank you ESRldp / attachment -, POSITION JUSTIFICATIONS The following are justifications for classified appointments, promotions and other personnel actions to be reviewed by the Mayor and Common Council at the January 22, 2001 Council meeting, CLASSIFIED GENERAL FUND 2. Equipment Mechanic I (Chandler. David) - Appointment PUBLIC SERVICES The incumbent will provide maintenance service to the City's fleet. This employee, combined with the rest of the maintenance staff, ensure employees throughout the City are driving safe vehicles in good repair, This position reduces the need to send vehicle repairs to outside vendors at a higher cost. 7. Disptacher" (Ware, Tanisha) - Promotion POLICE Tanisha Ware has been a Dispatcher I since July 1999. This promotion to Dispatcher II is an automatic promotion based on time served and good standings. She is a fully-trained dispatcher. This Dispatcher " position is a training position (since in the Budget Reduction Package of 1997/98, the Senior Dispatcher positions were eliminated), and this position is necessary to train new Dispatchers, Their knowledge and expertise in this area is necessary in the Dispatch Center. 8. Lead Maintenance Worker (Baeza. Sr.. Gilbert) - Promotion PUBLIC SERVICES The incumbent has been working in a higher-acting capacity in this position for more than one year, resulting in salary savings in his permanent appointment as Heavy Equipment Operator. The permanent appointment to Lead Maintenance Worker will allow the department to fill the vacated Heavy Equipment Operator position which will ultimately increase the service to the public, #7 1/22/01
