Mobilehome Rental Assistance Proaram
On April 4, 1991, a staff report (attached), along with a request for
funding, was made to the Redevelopment Committee. The request for
funding was for an annual allotment of $100,000 from the Twenty Percent
(20X) Set-Aside funds to fund the program. In May 9, 1991 the
Redevelopment Committee approved $100,000.00 Twenty-Percent (20X)
Set-Aside funds to be used to subsidize space rent in mobilehome parks
for low and moderate income individuals. The Redevelopment Committee
subsequently noted that there were forty-five (45) households receiving
assistance st a maximum of fifty dollars ($50) per month.
Consideration was given to changing the maximum amount to $75.00 per
month; however, the Committee recommended that the Mobilehome Rental
Assistance Program remain at its current level of. sUbsidy. ~
Additionally, staff was authorized to develop an intensive marke~ing
strategy for said program. Currently, there are one-hundred,
seventy-one (171) households in the program, which is a two-hundred,
eighty percent (280X) increase since August, 1991. Because of the
program's success, a supplemental FY 92/93 appropriation is being
requested. The request made is for $70,000 in Community Development
