A total of two (2) bids were received, in the amounts of $180,295.50 and $215,798.50. The low bid of $180,295.50 is 29.4% under the Engineer's Estimate of $255,404.00. Below is an estimate of the total project cost, based upon the actual low bid price: Construction Contract Preliminary Engr. (W.O. #1888,1889,1891) Construction Engr. The above listed allocations reflect the preliminary estimates of cost on the Field Review Forms. Ca1trans has approved the final total estimate of $319,000, which constitutes authority to increase the amount of Federal-Aid Funds for this project. Supplemental funds in the amount of $10,200 have been allocated to fully finance the City's share of 10%. RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A CONTRACT TO PALADIN CONSTRUCTION, INC. FOR INSTALLATION OF GUARD RAIL ON LITTLE MOUNTAIN DRIVE, RANCHO AVENUE AND WATERMAN AVENUE. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Paladin Construction, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder for: Installation of Guard Rail on Little Mountain Drive, Rancho Avenue and Waterman Avenue, per Plan No. 8262. A contract is awarded accordingly to said bidder for the total amoup.t of $180,295.50, but such award shall be effective only upon the contract being fully executed by both parties. All other bids, therefore, are hereby rejected. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute said contract on behalf of the City; a copy of the contract is on file in the office of the City Clerk and incorporated herein by reference as fully as though set forth at length. SECTION 2. This contract and any amendment or modifica- tions thereto shall not take effect or become operative until fully signed and executed by the parties and no party shall be obligated hereunder until the time of such full execution. No oral agreements, amendments, modifications or waivers are intended or authorized and shall not be implied from any act or course of conduct of any party. SECTION 3.
