(, r-- ~'""'i DBVBLOPMBBT DBPART~BT or THE CITY or SAIl BERlWIDllIO STAFF IlBPORT SAIl RllllKAIIDII10 C01JlllTY DBPAJrnv.nJ: or PIlB-SCHOOL SEllVICES (_AD START) PROGRAM Staff has received a request from Head Start for $1,500.00 for Development Permit fees to open a Child Development Program at 2382 Del Rosa Avenue in the City of San Bernardino. The Head Start Program will provide City of San Bernardino children and their families with comprehensive services to meet their educational, social, health, nutritional and emotional needs. A total of eight (8) classes per day are provided, with each class lasting 3 1/2 hours The Head Start program serves as a direct benefit to low and moderate income persons, and at least fifty-one percent (51%) are direct beneficiaries of the program/project. Staff has reviewed the request as submitted and finds the request by Head Start to be eligible for CDBG funding. On July 30, the Community Development Citizens Advisory Committee reviewed this item and recommended approval to the Mayor and Common Council. Staff recommends adoption of the form motion.
