ices, which serves a student population of 13,000. Active
member of the Senior Management Team and accountable for an
annual budget exceeding $6 million. Provide leadership and
foster creative programming responsive to the needs of the
fastest-growing university in the state of California.
Develop policies, procedures and direction for a staff
of 145 employees who administer 17 separate offices,
including enrollment services, student development services,
housing, child day care, student union, health center and
recreational sports.

(November, 1987 - present): Responsible for the planning,
organizing, preparing and coordinating of information and
materials requested from the Office of the President. As-
sist the President with the university program of community
relations. Provide the President with analysis regarding
university-wide budget, policies, employee relations,
programs and services. Additional duties include membership
on upper administrative committees and assisting the
President in meeting the demands for administrative detail
required in a growing university. Assist President in
monitoring and compliance requirements by chairing the In-
tercollegiate Athletic Advisory Committee.

focusing on retention strategies for underrepresented, low-
income and minority students in higher education and in-

(May, 1984 - August, 1986): Managed and supervised delivery
of academic support services for 4,500 underrepresented,
low-income and minority students. These programmatic
services included academic advisement, personal and peer-
counseling, learning skills instruction, tutorial assistance
and preparation for graduate school examinations. Adminis-
tered budget of $1.5 million and approximately 30 full-time
and 250 part-time staff.

ducted and authored statewide study documentinq all exist-

Consultant (September-october 1976):
Responsible for the training of test administrators for
the forming of El circo Test, a test designed for four-,
five-, and six-year-old Spanish-speaking children in the
United States. The test was administered to over 1200
students in twenty counties in Texas.
PROGRAM AND CONPERBNCE PARTrcrPATrON:
OVer 60 keynote and professional conference presentations in
the last ten years. Topics have included: program evaluation
of bilingual education, retention programs in higher education,
testing considerations for minority students, ethical roles of
researchers and responsibilities of student leaders in higher
education.
