1. REQUEST TO BE RELIEVED OF REQUIREMENT TO PAY AREA TAX -
MR. PHILIP KASSEL, ESQ. - The Committee, after a thorough briefing,
recommended no change to the area tax. The item will be placed on
the agenda for the council Meeting of September 8, 1992.
2. LOS PADRINOS FUNDING - The Committee recommended, in
concept, that Los padrinos be funded $25,000 for a program to be
presented at the August 3, 1992 Council Meeting. Said funding
would come from asset forfeiture funds. Should said funds not be
available immediately, the funds would come from the CMO (Collater-
alized Mortgage Obligation) monies that were transferred to the
General Fund during budget hearings. Los Padrinos will provide a
specific description of the program of gang intervention, training
and rehabilitation they intend to implement.
3. SO. CALIFORNIA EDISON RATE DECREASE - The Committee
recommended receipt and file.
