for bids.
01-06-92 Bid for relining sewer line rejected, and authoriza-
tion granted to advertise for bids.
05-04-92 Resolution No. 92-157 adopted awarding contract to T.
L. Pavlich Construction for low bid price of
$72,190.00.
Recommended motion:
That Change Order No. Two to the contract with T. L. Pavlich Con-
struction, for the replacement of sewer on "0" Street, in
accordance with Plan NO. 8587, be approved; to authorize the
Contractor to install approximately 200 feet of additional 8-inch
sewer pipeline, in order to connect the sewer in 8th Street to the
new main in "0" Street, for an estimated increase in the contract
price of $8,694.00, from $73,940.00 to $82,634.00.

STAFF REPORT
The plans for replacement of the sewer main in "0" Street
direct the existing sewer line, in 8th Street, to be connected to
the new sewer line being constructed in "0" Street.
During the excavation and installation of the sewer main
in "0" Street, it was found that the sewer main on 8th Street did
not tie into the existing "0" Street sewer. Public Services per-
sonnel were notified, and they investigated the existing sewer
line. They were unable to provide any additional information on
the point or connection. It should be noted that the existing
sewer line in "0" Street was constructed in 1889, and the records
are not clear.
The flow in the sewer main in 8th Street appears to be
impeded. In order to insure the proper functioning of this sewer
main, it will be necessary to provide a connection to the new
sewer main being installed in "0" Street. It will be required to
install about 200 feet of additional sewer main, in order to make
this connection.
The Contractor has agreed to install the additional length
of 8-inch sewer main at the contract unit bid price, plus $7.47
per linear foot for replacement of permanent pavement surfacing.
This will result in an estimated increase of $8,694.00 in the
contract price, from $73,940.00 to $82,634.00.
There is an available balance of $12,060 in contingencies,
which can be used to finance the cost of this extra work.
We recommend that Change Order No. Two be approved.

Gentlemen:
You are hereby authorized and directed to perform the following
work:
Installation of approximately 200 lineal feet of 8-inch sewer
main from Station 5+80, approximately 100 lineal feet north~
relocating a sewer manhole at station 6+80, continuing approxi-
mately 100 lineal feet west and tying into the existing 8-inch
sewer line on 8th St. All work shall be accomplished at the
contract unit prices of $36.00 per lineal foot for installation
of sewer main plus $7.41 per lineal foot for A.C. pavement
repair.
