Descriotion) Finance: Council Notes: 75-0262 AQenda Item NO.Jb CITY OF SAN BERNOIDINO - REQUEST fOR COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT The Public Services Department Refuse Division made application and received a grant for computerware and online service to the statewide RecycleLink system provided by the Local Government Commission. The grant consists of a computer modem, software, and one year's subscription service to the network to be used on an existing PC located at the Refuse Superintendent's office in the Central Garage. RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN RECYCLELINK AND THE PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of said City an Agreement by and between RecycleLink and the City of San Bernardino on behalf of the Public Services Department, a copy of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by reference as fully as though set forth at length. SECTION 2. The authorization to execute the above- referenced agreement is rescinded if the parties to the agreement fail to execute it within sixty (60) days of the passage of this resolution. CityLink is an on-line computer system operud by League of California Cities which incorporates a variety of diffClaJt network services for your use. One of these networks is Recyc1eLink. Re:ycleLink will provide your organization with new and exciting contacts v.i::in the recycling field. You can use Recyc1eLink as a forum for exchanging dormation on program developments, vendor news, material prices. success s:....oes, legislative updates, technical assistance, recycling grants, procw;u~nt contracts, and many other categories. _ In order to access RecycleLink, your city mllS< !:ave a valid CityLink subs!:ription. The basic subscription rate for CityLink is $427.50 per year for 12 hours of access per year. This fee includes access:: all CityLink services (with the exception of State Net Legislative Repoo:;;-; and the League's Legal Service System), one access code and J?!lSSword. asc:r documentation. and ton free ~ss to the system. The LGC will pay 1bc &iI CDSt of 1bc basic CityLiDt subscription ($427.50) for a one year tenn. after wbD the city bas the option to c:ootinue to subscribe to CityLink at the city's "P"'se. In order to access CityLink, you must have a modem with telecommunications software. A modem works tbroogh YOID' existing analog phone line to "hook up. with other computer DetVions throughout California. Telecommunication software allows YOID' compulef lD perform this ICttSS -with other computer systems. The LGC will be providiDg your agency with a modem for access to RecycleLink for a one ~.>IT term at no cost to you. If you need telecommunications software, it will also be iDdaded free of charge.
