STAFF REPORT (" .a< Bids for replacement of the HVAC units and repair of roofs for Mill and Hernandez Community Centers were opened at 2: 00 p.m., Tuesday, 6-16-92. A total of 4 bids were received, ranging from $69,780.00 to $99,835.00. The low bid of $69,780.00 is 26.6% under the Engineer's Estimate of $95,050.00. Below is an estimate of the total project cost, based upon the actual low bid price. Construction Contract $ 69,780 Engineering & Inspection (W.O. #1431 & 1432) 4,000 Sub-Total $ 73,780 Contingencies (15%):1; 11,220 TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 85,000 An amount of $40,000 has been allocated for the repair of roofs at the Mill and Hernandez Community Centers, and $50,000 for replacement of the air fan evaporative coolers with HVAC units at the Hernandez Center. RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A CONTRACT TO ARROWHEAD MECHANICAL SUPPLY, INC. FOR INSTALLATION OF HVAC UNITS AND REPAIRING ROOFS FOR MILL AND HERNANDEZ COMMUNITY CENTERS. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Arrowhead 11echanica1 Supply, Inc. is the 7 lowest responsible bidder for: Installing HVAC Units and 8 Repairing Roofs for Mill and Hernandez Community Centers, per 9 10 11 12 13 Plan No. 8689. A contract is awarded accordingly to said bidder for the total amount of $69,780.00, but such award shall be effective only upon the contract being fully executed by both parties. All other bids, therefore, are hereby rejected. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute said contract c: 14 on behalf of the City; a copy of the contract is on file in the 15 office of the City Clerk and incorporated herein by reference as 16 fully as though set forth at length. - , ...... 17 SECTION 2. This contract and any amendment or modifica- 18 tions thereto shall not take effect or become operative until 19 fully signed and executed by the parties and no party shall be 20 obligated hereunder until the time of such full execution.
