Synopsis of Previous Council Action:
September 20, 1999 - The Mayor and Common Council approved a resolution
implementing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOUl between the City of San
Bernardino and employees in the General Unit represented by San Bernardino Public
Employees' Association (SBPEA).
Per Article III, Compensation, Section 1, Salaries, a two percent (2%) salary increase is
effective January 1, 2001, for all members of the General Unit.

STAFF REPORT
SUBJECT
Resolution of the City of San Bernardino amending Resolution No. 6413, Section Ten,
entitled in part, "A Resolution. . . Establishing a Basic Compensation Plan. . . "; by
updating information and codifying prior Council actions (General Unit).
BACKGROUNI2
On September 20, 1999, the Mayor and Common Council approved a resolution
implementing a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of San Bernardino
and employees in the General Unit represented by San Bernardino Public Employees'
Association, effective July 1, 1999, through June 30, 2001.
Per Article III, Compensation, Section 1, Salaries, a two percent (2%) salary increase is
effective January 1, 2001, for all members of the unit.
This action amends the attached resolution to reflect the two percent (2%) salary
increase approved by the Mayor and Common Council. The resolution amends the
salary resolution for the Mid-Management employees will be forth coming.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The cost of the 2% salary increase for employees of the General Unit is approximately
$168,400. This amount has been Included in the FY 2000-2001 budget.
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt Resolutions.
