STAFF REPORT
Plans for relocation of the sewer facilities, in conflict
with the proposed Route 30 Freeway construction, have been pre-
pared by the Engineering Division and the project is ready to be
advertised for bids. The project consists, in general, of
relocating sewer mains to clear the proposed freeway and appur-
tenant storm drain.
Listed below is an estimate of the total project cost:
Construction Contract $ 407,958
Engr. & Inspection (W.O. #1784) 12,500
Sub-Total $ 420,458
Contingencies (20%):!: 96,542
TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 517,000
All costs incurred will be charged to Account No.
245-365-57725. Under provisions of Utilities Agreement No. 8384,
Caltrans will reimburse the City for actual costs incurred.
Authorization has been granted by the Federal Highway
Administration for these sewers to be relocated.
We recommend that the plans be approved and authorization
granted to advertise for bids.
URGENCY CLAUSE:
The schedule established by Caltrans for construction of the
Route 30 Freeway, between Highland Avenue and "H" Street, shows
all utilities in conflict to be relocated by 11-1-87. While we
will be unable to meet this deadline, it behooves us to make
the best possible effort.
