Synopsis of Previous Council action:
09-08-86 ---Resolution No. 86-360 adopted authorizing execution of a
lease with RDA for space in City Hall.
09-22-86 ---Resolution No. 86-383 adopted authorizing execution of a
first amendment to Lease Agreement with the Water Dept. for
lease of space in City Hall.
02-02-87 ---Authorization for expenditure of funds for maintenance and
renovation of various public buildings confirmed.
03-09-87 Resolution No. 87-59 adopted authorizing execution of an
Agreement with Interdesign for professional services.
06-15-87 Plans approved and authorization granted to advertise for
bids,

STAFF REPORT
Bids for this project were opened at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday,
8-11-87.
A total of 1 bid was received, in the amount of $33,089.86.
The low bid of $33,089.86 is 3.8% under the Structural Engineer's
Estimate of $34,400.00.
Listed below is an estimate of the total project cost,
based upon the actual low bid price:
Construction Contract $ 33,089.86
Professional Services Fees 4,100.00
Inspection (5%):!: 1,654.00
Sub-Total $ 38,843.86
Cent i ngenc i es (15%):!: 5,856.14
TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 44,700.00
Funds have been allocated in the Public Facilities Renova-
tion Fund for each floor in City Hall. It is proposed that the
cost of this project be divided equally between the second and
third floors, since each floor will gain approximately the same
amount of additional space.
We recommend that a contract be awarded for the bid
received.

1 RESOLUTION NO.
2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A
CONTRACT TO RANDY H. WYATT FOR REMOVAL OF STAIRS AND CLOSING IN
3 OPENING ON THIRD FLOOR OF CITY HALL.
4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. Randy H. Wyatt is the lowest responsible
bidder for Removal of Stairs and Closing In Opening on Third
Floor of City Hall, in accordance with Plan No. 7304, for the
total amount of $33,089.86, a contract is awarded to said bidder

therefor are hereby rejected; and the Mayor is hereby authorized
and directed to execute said contract on behalf of the City; a
copy of the contract is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A" and
incorporated herein by reference as fully as though set forth at
length.
SECTION 2. Execution and Amendments. This contract and
any amendments or modifications thereto shall not take effect or
become operative until fully signed and executed by the parties
and no party shall be obligated hereunder until the time of such
full execution. No oral agreements, amendments, modifications
or waivers are intended or authorized and shall not be implied
from any act or course of conduct of any party.
