Synopsis of Previous Council action:
June, 1986 --- Allocation of $145,500 approved in 1986/87 CDBG Budget to
finance the costs for installing street lights on Mt. Vernon
Avenue, from 9th Street to 21st Street.
Recommended motion:
That the plans for installation of street lights on
Mt. Vernon Avenue, from 9th Street to 21st Street, in
accordance with Plan No. 7232, be approved; and the
Director of Public Works/City Engineer authorized to
advertise for bids.

STAFF REPORT
Plans for the installation of these street lights have been prepared
by the Engineering Division, and the project is ready to be advertised for
bids. The project consists of installing service points and standard City
street lights. The special provisions have been prepared to solicit a Basic
Bid price for the section from 9th Street to Trenton Street. Installation
of street lights from Trenton Street to 21st Street is included as an Addi-
tive Alternate. This arrangement was selected due to the recent large
increase experienced in the bid prices for street lights. A decision can
be made after bids are opened to include as many street lights under the
Additive Alternate as funds are available.
Listed below is an estimate of the total project cost:

An amount of $145,500 has been allocated in the 1986/87 CDBG
Budget to finance the costs incurred for this project.
