STAFF REPORT
The 1986-87 Budget provided $19,000 for the purpose of promotion and Publicity
(001-091-53030 - Special Projects).
All of the budgeted funds have been ~llocated by the Mayor and Common Council
through the recommendations of the Ways and Means Committee. The last allo-
cation of funds was the amount of $5,500 to the Inland Empire Hispanic Chamber
of Commerce. At the time of that allocation direction to staff was to:
1. Identify an additional $1,500 to be provided to the Inland
Empire Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
2. Identify an additional $7,000 to be placed in the Promotion
Fund for use for therernainder of the fiscal year as desig-
nated by the r~yor and Common Council through the Ways and
Means Committee.
The requested $8,500 is available from savings in Account 001-092-53706
(r~dicare Benefits). The amount of $65,000 was budgeted for the City's portion
of federally mandated Medicare contributions for employees hired after April
1, 1986. The budgeted amount was based upon an estimate and actual experience
indicates that the requested $8,500 i.s ava, ilable for transfer.
The recommended. actions accomplish. the transfer of the Funds and the adoption
of a resolution authorizing payment of the additional $1,500 to the Inland
Empire Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
