Synopsis of Previous Council action:
12-17-84 -- The transfer of $55,000 to Del Vallejo Jr. High School Park Site approved.
June, 1985 - An additional allocation of $30,000 approved in 1985-86 8udget.
June. 1986 - An additional allocation of $80,000 approved in 1986-87 8udget.
10-06-86 -- Plans approved and authorization granted to advertise for bids,
01-19-87 -- Resolution No, 87-21 adopted awarding contract to Duncan Construction
for the low bid price of $126,173.00,
Recommended motion:
That Change Order No, One to the contract with Duncan
Construction, Inc" for the construction of a restroom/
concession building at Del Vallejo Jr, High School, in
accordance with Plan No, 6865, be approved; to authorize
the Contractor ro raise the finish floor elevation of the
building, increase the sewer line from 4 inches to 6 inches
and re-route the existing irrigation lines, at a net increase
in contract price of $2,162,00, from $126,173.00 to
$128,335,00.

STAFF REPORT
During construction of the restroom/concession building pad,
it was determined that an error in measurement by the field survey
crew, prior to design, resulted in a planned finish floor elevation
that would not allow proper sewage line flow. In order to alleviate
this situation, the building pad elevation has been raised approxi-
mately one foot and the 4-inch sewer line has been increased to 6
inches,
In addition, existing two-inch and one-inch irrigation
lines were encountered within the building pad area. The location
of these lines had not been known at the time of design. Approxi-
mately 150 feet of each line must be re-routed.
The contractor has agreed to perform the work for the lump
sum price of $2,162.00, increasing the contract price from $126,173,00
to $128,335.00.
We consider these costs to be reasonable and justified, Had
the building been originally designed at the elevation to allow proper
flow, it would be expected that these additional costs would be re-
flected in the original bid price.
We recommend that Change Order No, One be approved,
