JIL
. CI-tAF SAN BERNARDIN&>. R&EST FOR COUNCIL ~CTION
STAFF REPORT
The Engineering Division was requested by Jared A.
Knutson, Safety Marshal for Campus Crusade for Christ, to
establish a No Parking at Any Time Zone on Little Mountain
Drive, in front of their property located on the west side of
Little Mountain Drive, North of 27th Street.
Mr. Knutson explained
are parking along the west
adjacent to their driveways,
tions for motorists attempting
that employees of Campus Crusade
side of Little Mountain Drive,
and causing visibility obstruc-
to leave the premises.
This matter has been reviewed by the Mayor I s Traffic
Safety Committee on May 10, 1989. The Committee approved the
request to prohibit parking along the west side of Little
Mountain Drive, between 27th Street and a point 1465 feet north
of 27th Street.
Since Campus Crusade, is the only affected establish-
ment, and sufficient off-street parking is provided for their
employees and patrons, the parking restriction will not
adversely affect the parking supply.
A complaint was also received to the effect that large
trucks are parking on Little Mountain Drive, adjacent to the
intersections of Reservoir Drive and Sundance Drive. These
trucks create sight restrictions for motorists attempting to
enter Little Mountain Drive from those streets.
An investigation was conducted which verified the
resident's complaints. In order to alleviate this situation,
the Traffic Engineering staff recommended that parking be pro-
hibited along Little Mountain Drive, from Forty-Eighth Street to
Northpark Boulevard.
This matter was reviewed by the Traffic Safety Committee
at their meeting of 5-10-89. The Committee recommended that a
No Parking Any Time Zone be established on Little Mountain
Drive, between Forty-Eighth Street and Northpark Boulevard.
None of the residential units in this area front on
Little Mountain Drive. Therefore, there is no parking demand in
Little Mountain Drive.
