RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING THE EXECUTION OF A FIRST AMENDMENT
TO A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
FUNDING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO, AND OPTION HOUSE

Be it resolved by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino as follows:

SECTION I

(a) The Mayor of the City of San Bernardino is hereby authorized and directed to
II

execute, on behalf of the City, the First Amendment to the agreement for Community
13
Development Block Grant funding with Option House, which amendment is attached hereto as
14
Exhibit "1 ", and is incorporated herein by reference as though fully set forth at length. The First
15
Amendment provides for the granting of Community Development Block Grant funds in the
16
17
amount of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000).

SECTION II

(a) The authorization to execute the above referenced amendment is rescinded if the
20
parties to the agreement shall fail to execute it within sixty (60) days of the passage ofthe

FIRST AMENDM:ENT TO THE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPM:ENT BLOCK GRANT
PUBLIC SERVICE AGREEMENT
THIS FIRST AMENDMENT to Agreement 97-135 referred to as ("Amendment"),
is made and entered into this.l[lll day of FEBRUARY 1998 by and between the CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO, a Municipal Corporation, referred to as ("City"), and OPTION HOUSE. INC.,
a nonprofit community service organization, referred to as ("Subrecipient"). City and Subrecipient
agree as follows:
WITNESSETH
Community Development Block Grant
Whereas, City and Subrecipient have previously entered into agreement 97-135,
dated JULY 1, 1997, referred to as ("Agreement"), for a BATTERED WOMEN SERVICES. and
Whereas, City and Subrecipient desire to amend said agreement to include the
subrecipient's completion of the services; and
Whereas, City and Sub recipient desire to increase the amount of Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding in the amount of ONE THOUSAND AND NO/IOO
Dollars ($1,000_00) as part of the Fiscal Year 1996/1997 Mid year Reallocation process approved
on January 12, 1998.
Now therefore, in consideration of the mutual covenants herein set forth and the
mutual benefit to be derived there from, the parties agree as follows:

2. Change the first sentence in Section 2 Payments
City sha1I reimburse Subrecipient for allowable costs, incurred under the scope of this
Agreement within applicable Federal regulations, which have not been paid for. Reimbursement will
be made, at least on a monthly basis, and the total of all reimbursements will not exceed NINETEEN
THOUSAND AND NOII00 ($19,000,00).
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused this Amendment to be
executed on the date and year first hereinabove written.

EXHIBIT A
Option House-Services for Domestic Violence Victims
SCOPE OF SERVICES
1. Funds will be used to pay a portion of the salaries/fringe benefits for victimadvocates
who will provide services to victims of domestic violence, primarily female victims,
and their children.
2. Total funding is not to exceed $19,000.
