HomeMy WebLinkAbout1998-053 . - RESOLUTION NO. 98-53 2 3 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE EXECUTION OF A FIRST AMENDMENT TO A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, AND MARY'S MERCY CENTER, INC. 4 5 6 7 Be it resolved by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino as follows: 8 9 SECTION I 10 (a) The Mayor of the City of San Bernardino is hereby authorized and directed to 11 12 execute, on behalf of the City, the First Amendment to the agreement for Community 13 Development Block Grant funding with Mary's Mercy Center, Inc., which amendment is 14 attached hereto as Exhibit "1 n, and is incorporated herein by reference as though fully set forth at 15 length. PENMAN City Attorney 24 25 26 27 28 -2- 98-53 FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPM:ENT BLOCK GRANT PUBLIC SERVICE AGREEMENT TillS FIRST AMENDMENT to Agreement 97-130 referred to as ("Amendment"), is made and entered into this ~ day of FEBRUARY 1998 by and between the CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, a Municipal Corporation, referred to as ("City"), and NlARY'S MERCY CENTER. INC.. a nonprofit community service organization, referred to as ("Subrecipient"). City and Subrecipient agree as follows: WITNESSETH Community Development Block Grant Whereas, City and Subrecipient have previously entered into agreement 97-130 dated JULY 1, 1997, referred to as ("Agreement"), for an MARY'S TABLE. and Whereas, City and Subrecipient desire to amend said agreement to include the subrecipient's completion of the services; and Whereas, City and Subrecipient desire to increase the amount of Community ~ Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding in the amount of EIGHTY HUNDRED NINETY-SIX AND 41/100 Dollars ($896.41) as part of the Fiscal Year 1996/1997 Mid year Reallocation process approved on January 12, 1998. Now therefore, in consideration of the mutual covenants herein set forth and the mutual benefit to be derived there from, the parties agree as follows: 1. Add to Section 1(b) Recitals (Exhibit "A") 2. Change the first sentence in Section 2 Payments TNT:MARYMRC97AMND 97-130 ; 98-53" City shall reimburse Subrecipient for allowable costs, incurred under the scope of this Agreement within applicable Federal regulations, which have not been paid for. Reimbursement will be made, at least on a monthly basis, and the total of all reimbursements will not exceed SEVENTEEN THOUSAND FIVE-HUNDRED NINETY-ONE AND 41/100 ($17,591.41), IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused this Amendment to be executed on the date and year first hereinabove written. Funds will be used for utilities payment including: electrical, gas, water, trash services and liability, fire and theft insurance to provide hot meals and bags of emergency food to the homeless or low income. 2.
