Recommended motion:
That the plans for the construction of improvements to the Council
Chambers and first floor restrooms in accordance with Plan No.
9568, be approved; and the Director of Public Works/City Engineer
be authorized to advertise for bids.

STAFF REPORT
Plans for the construction of Americans with Disabilities
Act (ADA) improvements to the Council Chambers and first floor
restrooms have been completed and the project is ready to be
advertised for bids. The project consists of modifications to
the Council Chambers to make the speakers' area accessible to the
disabled, modifications to the restrooms on the first floor to
make them accessible to the disabled, and carpet replacement
within the Council Chambers.

Funds to finance the cost of the improvement are
contained in two separate accounts. Account No. 001-322-5706 has
$30,000.00 available while a CDBG Account No. 806-9012 is
providing an amount of $42,684.00 for a combined total of
$72,684.00. Facilities management has sufficient funds within
the 322 account to make up any shortage that might occur after
bids are opened and actual costs are known.
