SAN BERNARDINO. CALifORNIA 9240.
June 5, 1992
The Honorable W.R. (Bob) Holcomb
300 North D. Street
San Bernardino, CA 92418
Dear Mayor Holcomb,
This will confirm our conversation regarding the original office building at Mt.
View Cemetery.
After the fire in our original office building we intended to demolish the
building and rent office space off the cemetery property. In January 1991, we
agreed to lease the building to the City of San Bernardino and allow you to
restore the buildings facade' as it represented a significant part of the San
Bernardino history.
We have found that our office site located off the cemetery has not been
effective for us. Since the original office building has not yet been restored
as agreed, we would like to propose that we be allowed to complete the roof
repair, necessary repairs to the outside and paint or stucco the building.
The City Building Inspectors have inspected the structure and have advised us
that the building is structurally sound.
We would also like to gut the interior of the building and refurbish it into
office space. The primary use of this building would be for our employees only.
Our company has appropriated the funds for this project and should be able to
complete it within 75 days from the date the city issues us the appropriate
permits.
We respectfully request that we be allowed to reclaim our building and use it as
outlined above.
Very TrU1Ylur~
,--Jt.
