No.) (ACrt nPsrraptoon) Finance: Council Notes: s Agenda Item No. CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT Subject: Resolution authorizing the execution of an Agreement to Purchase Tax-Defaulted Property for the San Bernardino City Unified School District for property located within the City of San Bernardino at 2255 Bessant Street, San Bernardino. Background: The San Bernardino City Unified School District is purchasing Tax-defaulted property from the County of San Bernardino to expand the physical education facilities at San Gorgonio High School. The property is located at 2255 Bessant Street, San Bernardino (APN 1191-191-03.) It is approximately 9.1 acres in size. The site was previously a radio station and is predominantly vacant, although the towers are still present. To the west of this property is a(SFR) single- family residence neighborhood. A map of the property is attached. Since the property is located within the boundaries of the City, pursuant to the provisions of Section 3775 of the California Revenue and Taxation Code, the City must agree to the selling price of the property, which is $89,150. (The redemption total for defaulted tax bills on this property, good to 07/31/2008, is $83,126.11). The attached resolution authorizes the execution of an agreement by the City for the selling price as stated. Fiscal Impact: None. Recommendation: Adopt resolution.
