Ordinance of the City of San Bernardino Adding Section 10.16.240 of
the San Bernardino Municipal Code relating to Parking on Unpaved
Surfaces.
Currently, San Bernardino Municipal Code ~ 15.24.040(A)(5) makes it unlawful for any person to
park a vehicle on an unimproved surface. Currently, to cite such a violation, Code Compliance
Officers must contact the owner and provide himlher with a Notice to Appear or file a Long
Form Complaint against the alleged violator. This new ordinance will allow Code Compliance
Officers to issue parking control notices and place them on the offending car. This will
streamline the process and allow Code Compliance to address the problem in a far more efficient
manner.
The following proposed new SBMC section mects two goals: (I) prevent the parking of motor
vehicles on dirt/yards; and (2) making it more efficient for Code Compliance Officers to enforce.
It is therefore recommended that the attached proposed section 10.16.240 be adopted.
