CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - JWQUEST FOR CO~L ACTION
STAFF REPORT
SUBTECf
Resolution approving a sublease of certain City property leased to me Boys and Girls Club (County Behavioral
Healm)
BACKGROUND
On October 17, 1994, me Mayor and Common Council approved a lease of a portion of me Boys and Girls Club to
me County of San Bernardino Preschool Services, For meir Headstart Program.
The City has been allowing me sublease of me Boys and Girls Club to me County (Preschool Services) since 1994.
The Boys and Girls Club occupies a City-owned building at 1180 W. 9'" Street. This facility was built using a Hl.JD
grant, and has certain limitations on what can be housed at mis location. The County services provided will be used
by City and County residents, and meets me requirements set by HUD. The monies generated by mis lease go to me
Boys and Girls Club to pay operating expenses. This arrangement has worked well for all parties. The County would
now like to expand its services to me public at me Boys and Girls Club by offering family counseling services mrough
its Behavioral Healm Department The County is requesting to lease 455 square feet of space for $546.00 per monm
this purpose.
This resolution would set up a lease agreement for mree (3) years wim mree (3) one-year options to extend. 1\11 omer
terms of me agreement would be me same as me sublease to Preschool Services.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact.
RECOMMENDATION
That the j\layor and Common Council adopt me Resolution approving a sublease of certain City Property leased to
me Boys and Girls Club (County Behavioral Healm).
