04-17-89 -- Authorization granted to proceed.
07-17-89 Resolution No. 89-253 adopted declaring intention to form
assessment district and setting public hearing.
08-21-89 Resolution No. 89-330 adopted ordering work and
establishing Assessment District No. 991.
11-20-89 -- Resolution No. 89-454 adopted confirming assessment roll.
04-16-90 Resolution No. 90-128 adopted amending boundaries of
Assessment District No. 991 to include Tract No. 13530.
06-04-90 Resolution No. 90-200 adopted awarding a contract to
Mentone Turf Supply, for the low bid price of $5,720.00.
05-14-91 Contract C.O. No. 1 approved extending contract for 1 year,
from 7-1-91 to 6-30-92 at no increase to contract unit
prices.
Recommended motion:
1. That Chanqe Order No. Two to the contract with Mentone Turf Supply, for
the maintenance of landscaping in Assessment District No. 991, in
accordance with Plan No. 7782, be approved; to extend the contract for
a period of one year, from 7-1-92 to 6-30-93, at a 3.75% increase in
the annual contract price, from $15,597.00 to $16,181.89.
2. That the transfer of $25,682.00, from Ac . No. 54-000-30405, Assess-
ment District Reserve Fund," to
Acct. No. 251-6&6-53925, Assessment
District No. 991," be approved.

STAFF REPORT

The Special Provisions provide that the contract may be
extended for up to two (2) one-year periods, by mutual consent
of the City and Contractor. Adjustments in the contract prices
are to be negotiated at the time of each renewal.
Contract Change Order No. 2 extends the term of the
contract for one year, as allowed under the special provisions.
The contract was previously extended from July 1, 1991, to June
30, 1992, with no increase in contract unit prices. The
contractor has agreed to extend the contract, subj ect to an
increase of 3.75% in contract unit prices for the 1992-1993
renewal period, increasing the contract price from $15,597.00
to $16,181.89.
Below is an estimate of the total cost of providing
these landscape services, from 7-1-92 to 6-30-93.

of Intention No. 89-253. These costs will be reimbursed, with
interest, . through assessments levied on parcels wi thin the
district.
Inspection of the Contractor's work will be provided by
the Department of Parks and Recreation.
