STAFF REPORT
AcceDtance of ProDertv Located at Foothill And ~An~anita Drive
On March 2, 1992, the Commission authorized staff to execute pertinent
documents and close escrow on the subject property. The primary
purposes of the property are to facilitate the purchase of upscale
housing by developers and individual purchasers as well as preserve an
existing orange grove that is a significant and integral part of San
Bernardino's history. The property has been acquired.
Attached is a resolution of acceptance of the

WHBIBAS, the City of San Bernardino, COllllllUllity Development
Commission haa fostered substantial numbers of prior and pending low to
moderate income residential housing; and
WHBIBAS, the Commission further acknowledges the desirability
of an economic mix of tenants and owner-occupants in the cities overall
housing stock to promote stable residential neighborhoods for
purchasers of all economic strata; and
WHBREAS, the Commission has identified property_ located at
Foothill and Manzanita Drive (Parcels Ro. 1 and Ro. 2 referenced more
specifically by the attached Izhibits 1 of the property description and
Izhibit 2 of the parcel map) as an opportune site for the location and
development of upscale housing; and
WHBIBAS, acquisition of said properties would allow the
preservation of existing orange groves that are of important historiCal
value to the City in addition to facilitating the purchase of upscale

The Executive Director of the Bconomic Development Agency'a
Development Department, or designee, by ratification and affirmation of
action by the Community Development Commission, is authorized to accept
and record acquisition of the real property described in Exhibits 1 and
2, attached hereto, and made a part of this resolution for the purchase
price of $381,000.
