Replacement of Overhead Utility Facilities
South -E- Street, from Hunts Lane to MacKay Drive
The Southern California Edison Company submitted a proposal for a
Rule 20-B underground utility project on South "E" Street, from
Hunts Lane to MacKay Drive.
At the Conununity Development Conunission meeting of 3-2-92, the
allocation of $20,510 was approved from the $200,000 previously
authorized from tax allocation bond proceeds for widening the
South "En Street Bridge over the Santa Ana River.
The proposed Agreement, for replacement of overhead with
underground distribution facilities, provides, in general, that
the City wi11- pay $20,510 to Edison, and Edison will complete the
undergrounding (about 17 poles) of the utility facilities. There
are some high voltage transmission facilities along this section
of South "E" Street that will not be covered by this Agreement.
We reconunend that the Agreement be approved.

RESOLUTION OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO APPROVING AN AGREEMENT FOR REPLACEMENT OF
OVERHEAD WITH UNDERGROUND DISTRIBUTION FACILITIES ON SOUTH "E"
STREET, FROM HUNTS LANE TO MACKAY DRIVE.
SECTION
1.
The Agency
hereby approves
the
proposed
Agreement
for
Replacement
of
Overhead
with
Underground
Distribution Facilities on South "E" Street, from Hunts Lane to
MacKay
Drive,
and authorizes
the Executive Director
of the
Economic Development Agency to execute the Agreement,
and to

execute such other documents as may be necessary to implement the
Agreement and to make any necessary non-substantive changes in
the Agreement as may be approved by Agency Counsel.
SECTION
2.
This
Resolution
shall

effect

between SOtrrHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY, a corporation, hereinafter called .Utillty', and
the party III parties whose names are subscribed hereunder as ' Applicants.,
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS,Appllcants have requested Utility, pursuant to Section B.or Utility's Rule No, 20,
Replacement ~ Overhead with Underground Distribution Facilities, to rep1ace. UtDlty's existing overhead
with underground distribution racllltles at the locntlon or locations In the County or
SAN BERNARDINO . State or Callromla, substantially described as rollows:
"E" STREET, BETWEEN HUNTS LANE AND MAC KAY DRIVE IN mE CITY OF
SAN BERNARDINO
and as shown on the map attached hereto and made a part hereor; and
WHEREAS.

removed to agree In writing to perform the wiring changes on owners' premlsea so that service may be
Cumlshed rrom Utillty's underground distribution system In accordance with Utility's rules and that
Utility may discontinue UtlUty's overhead service upon completion or UtUlty's underground raclllties, or

WHEREAS. Underground service connections to each applicant Crom UtUlty's underground

NOW, THEREFORE, In consideration or the premises, and oC the mutual promises and
covenants or the parties hereto, herelnaner contained, It Is mutually agreed by and between the parties
hereto as rollows. vlz.:
1. Applicants will pay to Utility concurrently with the execution hereof the nonrerundable

meters and services, 0( completing the underground system over building a new equivalent overhead

timing requirements at Applicant's expense.
3. Utility will complete the undergroundlnll or said overhead distribution racUlties, pr0-
vided, however, Utility has been granted rights or way thereror satisractory to and without cost to Utility.
