We just got assessed in August. Assessment District should go. If they cut Police, the Suggest that Council & Depts. look at Fire Dept. for 3, 8hr shifts which would make the Firefighters work a 40 hr. work week -- a traditional work week. Does not feel we should run fire trucks with paramedics units -- costs too much. ANONYMOUS QUESTION: Has the City done a survey as to how many people actually watch the Council Meetings? Petitions are being circulated -- she believes that 75% of the people in this town would sign it. This is a lovely library. The children were in tears today -- they want to sign the petition. Had a problem in his neighborhood -- Fairfax Drive -- lots of dope buys, etc. They called the Police Department and received no help. The neighbors organized -- 60 in all (He was the chairman) and they had a meeting and invited the Mayor. The Mayor did not make the meeting but Councilman Marks and Assistant Chief Minor did. The next morning there were 7 motorcycle officers there to issue citations and clean up the problem. He and the neighbors are very grateful. Move the Police Department to Norton. Norton should not be under one developer -- a select committee should be appointed and a person hired to manage the committee for future use. They are involved in Charter Section 186 and therefore receive more increases and are better treated than any other employee within the city. Would like to see her Council representative more than just at campaign time. Has to make 3 to 4 trips to the dump, per year at a cost of $30 each trip to take care of garbage that the city does not pick up. First, they were told that much ~f the deficit was due to the booking fee revenues being withheld. Now the story is it's sales tax revenue?
