HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989-437 , ( ~.-- . ... 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 40 , , RESOLUTION NO. 89-437 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO ESTABLISHING A REWARD OF $1,000 ~OR INFORMATION LEADING TO THE ARREST AND CONVICTION OF ANY PERSON FOR WILLFULLY DUMPING ON PUBLIC OR PRIVATE PROPERTY. WHEREAS, the willful unauthorized dumping on public and private property is increasing each year and results in substantial costs to the public, businesses, landlords and private property owners, and WHEREAS, such willful dumping on public and private property lowers property values, discourages Clean-up efforts, lessens community pride, attracts gangs and gang activity, and encourages further deterioration of neighborhoods; and WHEREAS, such dumping frustrates the City's efforts at making the City a better place to live and work through code enforcement and other related programs, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino as follows: SECTION 1. The City hereby offers a reward of $1,000 to anyone providing information leading to the arrest and conviction of any person for willfully dumping on public or private property. SECTION 2. If the reward is payable to two or more persons, it shall be divided equally between such persons. SECTION 3. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino at a meeting thereof, held on the 6th regular day of November , 1989, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Council Members Estrada, Reilly, Flores, Maudsley, Minor, Pope-Ludlam, Miller NAYS: None ABSENT: None ~~~4~~ Ci ty ....Clerk The foregoing resolution is ~day of // November 1989.
