CITY OF SAN BEAN~DINO - REQUEST F~ COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
Plans for widening the South "E" Street Bridge, over the Santa Ana River,
from two to four lanes are being prepared and Federal Aid Urban Funds have
been approved to finance 86% of the cost of the preliminary engineering.
The preliminary estimated construction cost of the project is $4,500,000 and
funding was not identified to finance the cost.
On 4-16-90, a letter was received from the Sunset Group req\lesting that an
assessment district be formed to finance the construction. On 5-7-90, the
Mayor and Common Council authorized the City Clerk and City Engineer to
proceed with establishing such a district under the provisions of the
1913/15 Act.
Subsequently, the entire amount to construct has been allocated from a
combination of SANBAG, through the ~ ~ sales tax, and of Bond Proceeds.
Therefore, the assessment district is no longer necessary.
To clear the file, it is necessary that the motion be adopted.
