CITY OF SAN BERNAR&hO - REQUEST FOR QOUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
Section 2B of Council Resolution No. 89-129, Paragraph 2,
states that:
"A salary survey shall be conducted in odd-numbered
years, beginning in 1989, by an independent firm
selected by the Mayor and Common Council. The
survey shall compare salaries of the classifica-
tions covered by this resolution with like or
similar classifications in other similarly situated
municipalities."
The firm selected for the survey in 1989 was COMP PLUS, at a
cost of $5,900. John Roberts, President, SBCMA, and the
three-member Management Advisory Committee (Annie Ramos, Phil
Arvizo and Diane Roth) recommend using COMP PLUS again and
asking then to update the previous salary survey.
Exhibit "A" is a proposal from COMP PLUS dated September 17,
1991, and received September 19, 1991. The cost is $4.975.
Recommendations:
1. Authorize the selection of COMP PLUS for a management/
confidential compensation study.
2. Adopt the attached resolution.
