Honorable Mayor W.R. "Bob" Holcomb
City Council Members
c/o Shauna Clark, City Administrator
300 N. D Street
San Bernardino, Ca. 92418
Dear Ms. Clark,
On October II, 1991, Aquinas High School is sponsoring its
5th Annual Homecoming Parade at 3:00 p.m. Each year the fees
for our parade have been appreciately waived, however, I was
informed by Daniel Robbins, Chief of Police through
Sgt. Dave Suttle that the city is going to charge the school
$121.77. This charge is for the assignment of a police
sergeant, 2 motor officers, a patrol officer and their
related equipment.
Aquinas High School has been fortunate to have the support
of the City of San Bernardino. We are again asking to have
this year's parade fee waived.
If you have any questions or comments please call me at 886-4659.
Sincerely,
:r9t.J~ KdL~

The purpose of this memo is to inform you that Aquinas High School has
submitted a special event application requesting to hold their annual
homecoming parade on October 11th, 1991 starting at 1500 hours to 1545
hours. The assembly area is at Aquinas High School. A map is attached.
I will be sending the necessary paperwork to Risk Management for processing.
The school plans are to have the parade travel south on Sterling to Highland,
west on Highland to Valencia, north on Valencia to Lynwood, and then back
to Sterling where they will disband in the parking lot at the school.
Two motors, a patrol unit and a sergeant will be sufficient to handle
this event. The Traffic Bureau will supply the motors and Area "F" will
supply a unit, one officer, and a sergeant.
There will be no over time expended, all officers will be on regular
duty. The detail will take about one hour. The cost for personnel and
equipment will be as follows:
1 sergeant $ 30.14
1 patrol officer 28.67
2 traffic officers 59.06
Personnel Total $117.87
1 patrol unit (estimated 5 miles @ .28~ per mile)
2 traffic motors ( estimated 5 miles @ .25~ per mile)
Equipment Total
$ 1.40
2.50
$ 3.90
Total Cost
$121.77
Lisa Kelly was advised of the above costs and agreed to go forward with
plans to have the parade, pay the fees, and appeal to Councilwoman Miller
for a waiver. Lisa Kelly is the Student Body Moderator.
