CITY OF SAN BERt()RDINO - REQUEST OR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
The Fire Department has found that at emergency scenes, quite
often the private ambulance crew does not have sufficient physical
strength to load a sick or injured individual into the ambulance.
This then requires assistance by City personnel who should be
employed in other tasks. The proposed ordinance would require an
annual demonstration by each crew of the ability to perform this
essential task and would make ita misdemeanor to operate an
ambulance in the City without such approval. This, of course, does
not relate in any way to the medical abilities or training of the
crew members.
