Recommended motion:
That Change Order No. ONE to the contract with E. L. Yeager
Construction Co., Inc. for the Pavement Rehabilitation on Waterman
Avenue, from Redlands Boulevard to Mill Street, in accordance with
Plan No. 7679, be approved; to authorize the Contractor to install
a No. 4 manhole, for an increase in the contract price of
$10,750.00; from $1,482,667.64 to $1,493,417.64.

STAFF REPORT
This project includes the installation of a storm drain in
Redlands Boulevard, from Waterman Avenue to an existing pipeline
400 feet westerly. The City's Storm Drain Master Plan calls for
a future 45" storm drain in Waterman Avenue, from Redlands
Boulevard southerly to Caroline Street. This proposed line will
connect to the storm drain, currently under construction in
Redlands Boulevard through a junction structure. (No.4 manhole).
The installation of the junction structure at this time
will save costs in the future for construction, eliminate the
need of the Master Plan Storm drain to Caroline Street, and
reduce the amount of time that traffic will be tied up. Caltrans
personnel has expressed the opinion that the junction structure
will be eligible for financing, for 86% of the cost, with
Federal-Aid Urban Funds.
Contractor has quoted a net price of $10,750.00 to install
this junction structure.
The total estimated project cost includes an amount of
$257,324.36 for contingencies, which can be used to finance the
cost of this extra work.
We recommend that Change Order No. One be approved.
