STAFF REPORT
There has been some confusion between the City and the local
ambulance company regarding the need to proceed to a call on an
emergency basis (lights and siren). State law provides that lights
and siren can only be used if the ambulance is responding to an
emergency call (Vehicle Code S2l055 and S21056). This ordinance
will clarify the situation by providing that dispatch will notify
the ambulance if an emergency, requiring lights and siren, exists.
