RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN BERNARDINO OPPOSING FURTHER EXPANSION OF OMNITRANS IN THE AREA
OF 1700 WEST FIFTH STREET, SAN BERNARDINO.
WHEREAS, citizens of the First and Sixth Ward living in the
proximate area of Omnitrans, 1700 West Fifth Street, have
expressed concern regarding the additional expansion of the
Omni trans operations above and beyond the construction of an
Administration Building; and
WHEREAS, several citizens have signed petitions strongly
voicing their opposition to said expansion; and
WHEREAS, these neighborhood residents have been extremely
cooperative with Omnitrans in allowing their location and
existence in this area for over 15 years; and
WHEREAS, expansion in this area would cause additional
noise, pollution and traffic; and
WHEREAS, there are other sites within Omnitrans' area of
operation that would be more suitable for an expansion; and
WHEREAS, the area designated for expansion is zoned
Residential and not Commercial or Light Industrial,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common
