Synopsis of Previous Council action:
Resolutions have been approved by the Mayor and Common Council since August
1983 to establish A9reements between the City and School District for delivery
of lunches and snacks to the City's Delmann Heights Head Start Center.
Resolution 90-386 was approved on September 17, 199D to extend the Agreement
for the 1990-91 school year.
Recommended motion:
Adopt the Resolution.

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE STAFF REPORT
EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT
RELATING TO DELIVERY OF
LUNCHES AND SNACKS TO DE~
HEIGHTS HEAD START CENTER.
The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department has
provided a Head Start Program at Delmann Heights Community
Center since 1978 with an agreement with city Schools for
lunches and snacks since that time. This program currently
accommodates 15 morning and 15 afternoon pre-schoolers, ages
3-5 and runs September through June.
This proposed agreement includes a $.03 increase for lunches
(from $.95 to $.98). The cost of the snacks remains the same
as last year ($.25). The program is fully funded through a
federal Head Start Grant.
Approval is recommended.

CERTIFICATION OF MINUTES
The Board met in regular session on the 7thth day of May, 1991, at the usual meeting
place thereof. The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m.

The adoption of the following resolution and order was moved by Member H. Brown,
and seconded by Member Yeager, and a vote being taken, the said resolution and order

BE IT RESOLVED that the City of San Bernardino be exempted from the provisions of
Education Code Section 39872 under the Food Service Agreement for its Delman
Heights Child Care Center for the duration of the Agreement and any extension thereof.
BE IT ALSO RESOLVED that the Board of Education approves entering into the Food
Service Agreement (Fiscal Year) with the City of San Bernardino for its Delman
Heights Child Care Center, effective July 1, 1991, through June 30, 1992, per terms of
the Agreement, at no cost to the District.
BE IT FURlHER RESOLVED that Harold L Boring, Assistant Superintendent,
Administrative Services, be authorized to sign said Agreement on behalf of the Board of
Education.
I, E. NEAL ROBERTS, Secretary of the Governing Board of the San Bernardino City
Unified School District hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a

THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE SAN BERNARDINO CITY
UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT RELATING TO THE DELIVERY OF TYPE A
LUNCHES AND SCHEDULE B SNACKS TO CITY'S DELMANN HEIGHTS HEAD
START CENTER.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Mayor of the city of San Bernardino
is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of
said City an Agreement with the San Bernardino City Unified
School District relating to the delivery of Type A Lunches
and Schedule B Snacks to City'S Delmann Heights Head Start
Center, for the term of one year and to provide the student
lunches at ninety-eight cents each and the snacks at twenty-
five cents each, a copy of which is attached hereto, marked
Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by reference as fully as
though set forth at length.

THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 8th day of May, 1991,
by and between the SAN BERNARDINO CITY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT,
hereinafter referred to as "DISTRICT, " and the CITY OF SAN
BBRNARDINO for its Delman Heights child Care Center, hereinafter
referred to as "CITY," is as follows:

WHEREAS, the CITY desires to have Type A lunches and Schedule B
snacks provided for its Delman Heights Child Care Center: and,
WHEREAS, the DISTRICT has facilities for the preparation of the
needed lunches, and the DISTRICT is willing to provide such service
to the CITY on a cost reimbursement basis:
NOW, THEREFORE, the DISTRICT and the CITY mutually agree as
follows:
