form assensnent district and setting public hearing.
08-21-89 Resolution No. 89-330 adopted ordering work and
establishing Assessment District No. 991.
11-20-89 Resolution No. 89-454 adopted confirming assessment
roll.
04-16-90 Resolution No. 90-128 adopted amending boundaries of
Assessment District No. 991 to include Tract No. 13530.
06-04-90 Resolution No. 90-200 adopted awarding a contract to
Mentone Turf Supply, for the low bid price of $5,720.00,
for the Basic Bid and Supplemental Items.
Recommended motion:
That Change Order No. One to the contract with Mentone Turf Supply,
for the maintenance of landscaping in Assessment District No. 991,
in accordance with Plan No. 7782, be approved; to extend the
contract for a period of one year, from 7-1-91 to 6-30-92. The area
to be maintained is increased from 11,520 S.F. to 43,196 S.F. and
the basic contract price adjunted by $9,877.00, from $4,200.00 to
$14,077.00.

STAFF REPORT
The Special Provisions provide that the contract may be
extended for up to two (2) one-year periods, by mutual consent
of the City and Contractor. Adjustments in the contract prices
are to be negotiated at the time of each renewal.
~ Contract Change Order No. 1 extends the contract for one
year, as allowed under the special provisions of the contract.
Contract quantities for the maintenance of plants has increased
due to the addition of Tracts 13619 and 13530. The one year
maintenance period under which the developer is to maintain
this area will expire on June 30, 1991, at which time the City
must assume responsibility for maintenance of the landscaping.
The landscape area has increased from 11,520 Sq. Ft. to 43,196
Sq. Ft. The renegotiated Basic Contract Price increased from
$4,200.00 to $14,077.00. There will be no change in the
contract unit prices for supplemental items, which total
$1,520.00.
Listed below is an estimate of the total cost of pro-
viding these landscape services, from 7-1-91 to 6-30-92.

Funding of the costs incurred for maintenance of the
landscaping will be provided pursuant to Resolution No. 89-330,
adopted on 8-21-89, which orders the maintenance of the
landscaping installed by the Subdivider. Formation of an
assessment district was a condition of the various tracts.
'1cost for maintenance of the landscaping in this district
will be up fronted by the City, as set forth in the Resolution
of Intention No. 89-253. These costs will be reimbursed, with
interest, through assessments levied on parcels within the
district.
Inspection of the Contractor's work will be provided by
the Department of Parks and Recreation.
We recommend that Contract Change Order No. One be
approved.

1. The term of the contract is hereby extended for an
additional one-year period, from 7-1-91 to 6-30-92.
2. The area of landscaping to be maintained under Item No.
One of the Basic Bid is increased from 11,520 Sq. feet to
43,196 sq. feet.
3. The unit price of Item No. One of the Basic Bid is
increased from $3,600.00 to $13,477.00, with a resulting
increase in the Basic contract price of $9,877.00, from
$4,200.00 to $14,077.00.
