Adjustments in the contract prices are to be negotiated at the time of each renewal. MacKenzie Landsca~ previously agreed to an extension of the contract for one year, from July 1, 1990, to June 30, 1991.1fContract Change Order No. Two extends the contract for the second of the (2) one-year periods allowed under the special provisions. Contract quantities have increased with the addition of the landscape area of Tract 13470. 1f{ The one year maintenance period will expire on June 30, 1991, at which time the City will assume responsibility for maintaining the landscaping.~ The landscaped area will increase by approximately 100%, from 11,319 S.F. to 22,519 S.F. However, the negotiated contract price for 1991/92 has increased by only 27%, from $4,800.00 to $6,600.00. Listed'below is an estimate of the total annual cost of providing these landscape maintenance services, from 7-1-91 to 6-30-92, based upon the contract Basic Bid Price, as adjusted by Contract Change Order No. Two. Maintenance Contract - Basic Bid $ 6,600 Supplemental Items 798 $ 7,398 Incidental Costs (Assessment engineering, publishing and recording fees, inspection by Dept. of Parks & Recreation, advertising for bids, and water and electric bills) 1,555 Y'TOTAL ESTIMATED ARNUAL COSTS $ 8,953 Funding of the costs incurred for maintenance of the landscaping will be provided pursuant to Resolution No. 87-114, adopted on 4-6-87, which orders the maintenance of the land- scaping installed by the subdivider. Formation of an assessment district for maintenance of landscaping was a condition of ap- proval for Tract No. 13329. This district was expanded by Reso- lution No. 89-81, adopted 3-20-89, to include Tract No. 13470. Costs for maintenance of this landscaping will be up- fronted by the City, as set forth in the Resolution of Inten- tion (87-139). These costs will be reimbursed with interest, through assessments levied on all parcels wi thin the area of benefit. Inspection of the Contractor's work will be provided by the Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services. We recommend that Contract Change Order No. 2 be approved. 5-09-91 75-0264 ,. . .
