CITY.OF SAN BERN,oDINO - REQUEST FO COUNCIL ACTION
APPROVAL OF $1,730 FROM THIRD STAFF REPORT
WARD PARK EXTENSION FUNDS FOR
THE ACQUISITION OF A FREEZER
AND COFFEE MAKER FOR USE BY
S. B. WEST LITTLE LEAGUE.
A 1990 fire at the Nicholson Park Little League concession
stand destroyed several appliances that were the property of
San Bernardino West Little League. These items are essential
for the operation of the concession stand. The most critical
appliances that were lost were a freezer and a coffee maker.
Replacement cost is $1,730.
The operation of the concession stand is critical to the
financial operations of the league. The revenue from the
stand offsets on-qoinq operatinq costs such as umpirinq
costs, equipment costs and replacement of uniforms. The
league has requested assistance for the replacement of these
items. It has been a practice in the past to assist little
leagues with similar types of items from the park extension
funds.
This request has been coordinated with the Council Office.
Approval is recommended.
