DescriDtiDnl Flnenllll: Council Notes: 75.0262 Agenela Item NO~ ! l o o PROPOSED RESOLUTION WHEREAS, citizens of the First and Sixth Ward living in the proximate area of Omnitrans, 1700 West Fifth Street, have expressed concern regarding the additional expansion of the Omnitrans operations above and beyond the construction of an Administration Building; and WHEREAS, several citizens have signed petitions strongly voicing their opposition to said expansion; and WHEREAS, these neighborhood residents have been extremely cooperative with Omnitrans in allowing their location and existence in this area for over 15 years; and WHEREAS, expansion in this area would cause additional noise, pollution and traffic; and WHEREAS, there are other sites within Omnitrans' area of operation that would be more suitable for an expansion; and WHEREAS, the area designated for expansion is zoned Resi- dential and not Commercial or Light Industrial, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino support the citizens and oppose any further Omnitrans expansion in the area.
