(Probation TEAMS for EFFECTIVE CONTROL and TREATMENT)
An Intermediate Punishment Program

. To provide maximum protection for our communities from the at-risk offender on
probation.
. To provide the courts with a highly-structured sentencing alternative which assures
offender accountability.
. To provide the at-risk offender an opportunity for successful rehabilitation in the
community.
. To increase communication and cooperation among the law and justice agencies
concerned with crime and the at-risk offender.
Tuget Papalatiaa:
Included in the at-risk population are the offenders who seek to support their addictions
through criminal activities and those who, while under the influence of illegal drugs,
commit irrational and sometimes violent crimes. Effective control and treatment of
these individuals can have a significant impact on the total crime rate.

Investigation:
Provides extended period to fully assess the offender's risk to the
community and commitment to rehabilitation efforts.
If released pending sentence, could be subject to house arrest, search,
drug testing, and other conditions.

Methodologies:
Probation staff will be on duty seven days a week and on call 24 hours
a day for residence checks, searches, enforcement of terms and
conditions and as a resource for law enforcement agencies.
Restrictive terms and conditions of probation which could require
community service, payment of restitution and costs of supervision,
house arrest, curfew limits, drug counseling, school attendance or
employment.
Frequent contacts with the prObationer, including random and
unscheduled home calls, day or night.
Frequent and random searches and drug testing.
Regular collateral contacts with law enforcement agencies regarding
the probationer's conduct and activities.
Accelerated probation violation hearings that will reduce costly
delays in prosecution, court procedures and unnecessary jail
detention.
