CI,o OF SAN BERNARDO - REQUEQr FOR COUNCIL AC"O)N
STAFF REPORT
Retained Council, Gary D. Carpenter of the law firm of Furness,
Middlebrook & Kaiser, as well as the City's Liability Claims
Specialist, recommend settlement of these related claims for a
sum not to exceed $3,500.
Irene Carver tripped and fell at the 1800 block of Pershing
Avenue, sustaining bruises, abraisions and a fractured finger.
Her husband, Ellis, who accompanied her at the time, submist his
claim for emotional distress and loss of consortium.
Potentially, the case has.ahigher settlement value and we recom-
mend settling at $3,500.00 or less.
