CITY.OF SAN BERNQ.DINO - REQUEST ~ COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
At the present time Vanir has spaces located on three different floor
levels of the parking structure. 112 in the basement level. 100 spaces
on the second level. and 113 on the fourth level.
At the present time it is difficult to control the maintenance. signing.
and use of these spaces and provide any responsible security. If. for
example. all the spaces were relocated on the fourth level. it would be
more advantageous to Vanir Company and the City. and it would be
more cost effective for the management of those spaces.
This would allow the City and the agency to realign other allocated
spaces throughout the structure which would provide better utilization.
maintenance and control of the structure. This was the concept in the
feasibility study that was made in 1982.
There is presently 318 spaces assigned to the fourth level. however,
that could be re-stripped for compact vehicles which could increase the
number of spaces by approximately 10% and it is proposed that this be
done by Vanir monies and that they be the benefactor of additional
parking spaces.
The present layout
efficiently allocated
management program.
It is recommended that staff be directed to revise necessary easements.
agreements, resolutions, etc. necessary to implement this consolidation
in coordination with Vanir Company. within 60 calendar days of the date
of the approval of this concept.
