SUFF REPORT
Arden-Guthrie Relocation Assistance Proaram
The City has been working diligently to address the problems of crime and
blight in the Arden-Guthrie area through various means including vigorous code
enforcement efforts. Inspections have revealed many housing units in
substandard condition, resulting in the displacement of the unit's occupants.
In many cases, these individuals and families are low and moderate income
housing residents.
The motion before you would appropriate $25,000 from the Department's Twenty
Percent Set-Aside Housing Fund for relocating eligible, affected individuals
to alternative housing. Unlike the blighted units which are being closed, the
replacement housing will provide displaced persons with decent, safe and
sanitary living quarters.
Staff recommends adoption of the form motion.
