struction Fund Budget - Acct. No. 248-368-57835.
05-07-90 Negative Declaration adopted and finding 0= Gonsis-
tency with General Plan made.
08-20-90 Authorization granted to advertise for bids - Plan
and Specification No. 8072.
08-20-90 Authorization to transfer $94,400 from Account No.
248-368-57813, "Pershing Ave - 40th to 48th" to
Acct. No. 248-36B-57835 "Redlands Blvd. - Hunts
Lane to Waterman," gr'anted.
11-05-90 Resolution No. 90--442 adopted, awarding a contract
for the lmq bid price of $330,000.
01-07-91 Change Order No. One approved, increasing the con-
tract price by $19,500.00, to $349.500.00.
Recommended motion:
That Change Order No. Two to the contract with Cornish Construc-
O tion, for the construction of a storm drain in Redlands
Boulevard, from Hunts Lane to Waterman Avenue, in accordance with
Plan No. 8072, be approved, to increase the cost authorized for
Change Order No. One, for installation of 455 feet of 8-inch
sewer main, from $19,500.00 to $23,500.00 for an increase in the
contract price of $4,000.00, from $349,500.00 to $353,500.00

STAFF REPORT
Change Order No. One was approved at the Council
meeting of 1-7-91, to authorize the construction of an B" sewer
main in Redlands Boulevard, from Hunts Lane to a point about
455 feet easterly. This change order was approved with a not
to exceed amount of $19,500.00.
During construction, numerous underground utility lines
were encountered in Hunts Lane, which had not been identified
by the responsible companies. Conflicts with these utility
lines delayed the Contractor up to 5 working days, which
resulted in additional costs in the amount of $4,000.00.
We have reviewed the Contractor's request for addi-
tional compensation, and feel that it is fair and reasonable.
The total estimated project cost, based upon the actual
low bid price, included an amount of $55,000 for contingencies,
which can be used to finance the additional cost of $4,000.00
for Change Order No.1.
We recommend that Change Order No. 2 be approved.
