I was born on August 12, 1924 in Winslow, Arizona. My

We have six children,
grand-daughter.
We lived in the parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe from
1946 through 1955 where I regularly taught the Confraternity
of Christian Doctrine. We purchased our first home in July
1955, which was situated in st. Anthony's parish where I was
a member of the Altar Society, Queen of Peace Guild and the
Financial Committee for fund raisers which was instrumental
in building and establishing st. Anthony's school.
I was regularly involved in my children's classroom
activities as a "room mother" while they attended Mt. Vernon
Elementary School. I was elected Historian, Founders Day
Chairperson, Vice-President and President of the P.T.A.
during 1952 through 1953.
The current superintendent of the San Bernardino City
Unified School District, Dr. Neal Roberts, was a sixth grade
teacher to one of my children and subsequently became Rio
Vista's principal. I also participated as a parent volunteer
in Dr. Roberts' classroom as a "room mother" and organized
school dinners, school carnivals and helped in numerous
P.T.A. events. I participated as a volunteer at the Library
while my oldest daughter attended st. Bernardine High School.
While my younger children attended Franklin Junior High
School I was appointed Founders Day Chairperson of the P.T.A.
and participated in numerous school events, including
Chaperoning school dances. I also participated as P.T.A.
Board Member and Founders Day Chairperson at Arrowview Junior
High School. Also during my daughter's senior year I served
as P.T.A. President at Pacific High School.
I continued to participate as a volunteer in P.T.A.
events from 1969 through 1973 at Riley and Burbank Elementary
Schools. I particularly enjoyed demonstrating during school
assemblies, how to make corn and flour tortillas from scratch
and also enjoyed lunch and yard duties.
